Detailed description:

    Anchors with CSS property 'z-index' (and 'position: relative')
    makes Opera very sluggish.

    * Text selection on the test page is very slow.
    * Also, the selection is only painted on the first row, regardless
      of which rows are actually selected.
    * Even clicking on a link is very slow.

    Note: The bug also occurs in Opera 7.54 build 3865.
