Bug Report: 232554 Date: 2006-10-08 What kind of problem is this? Spec violation Where is the problem? Web page problem Brief summary of the problem encountered: Opera incorrecty caches HTTP 302 responses What URL triggers this bug, if any? http://luden.se/www/opera/bugs/i-51/http-302-caching.html Describe in 3 steps or more how to reproduce this bug: 1. Turn on Referer logging. 2. Visit URL. 3. Follow the link to "Frame 2". What do you expect to happen? The server returns a non-cacheable HTTP 302 response, that redirects the browser to a frameset page. This page in turn links to the original URL. Since the 302 response is not cacheable, Opera should re-request the URL from the server. The page should display two equally sized frames. What actually happens? Opera caches the 302 response and reuses the target of the redirection, thus violation RFC 2616 10.3.3. See: for detailed analysis.
